Default Date a pennant for me?

A friend of mine has this pennant and would like some info on it..sorry I took a photo of the entire pennant, but my phone won't resize it so it can be sent to my email. Any idea of year? Is it listed in the book? Value? It's very clean, no holes, the tip is all there, no tassles.

It looks to be a 1956 -1957 style.

Jerry is right, as usual... 1957 is the best bet.

Same exact Batter graphics were used for the 1957 All Star Game Pennant and the 1957 World Series Pennant (the Yankees Version which was sold at Milwaukee).

Dan- Here is the one from the 1957 World Series, with the same graphic, that Mark referred to which was sold at Milwaukee County Stadium.

Thanks Adam...very similar. I'd say 1957 probably nails the date down.

A 1957 Yankees World Series black version. Sorry for the glare from the frame.

I do notice that there is a difference in the clouds between the two pennants.

He means the difference between the pennant in Post #1 and the 1957 World Series versions. There are more "clouds" in the pennant pictured in the original post.

I thought I had a photo of my '57 All Star Game Pennant, but can't find it anywhere. I will have to find it and re-shoot it. I think the clouds of the All Star Pennant match the pennant in the original post... that is, more clouds than the 1957 WS versions.

Editing to say... Jerry, I love that color-shaded version. Much tougher and more attractive than just the plain white graphics... niiiiice!

Yep... found mine. The 1957 All Star Pennant has the same "Cloud formation" as the pennant Dan originally posted. Interesting that they would change it slightly for the World Series version.

BTW... I am not sure if these are even clouds... not sure what they really are (but like the abstract nature of it)

Just noticed that Dan had inquired about the value in his original post. I checked Mike's Price Guide, which sheds some new light...

The "non-dated" pennant from the original post is listed as "Rare" with a value of $125 - $175. This one would be at the top of this range, given its very clean condition.

An interesting side-note is that the Yankees used this same Batter image on their 1958 and 1964 WS Pennants. So I suppose the one in question could emanate from anywhere between 1957 and 1964. Late '50s would be a good estimate.

Hope this is helpful!

That was actually a version that Mike H felt should to be changed to very rare in the next edition. Mike
