Default December 2011 Pickups

This is one I've wanted for quite awhile but never found in the right grade for the right price...until now! The legendary "Cyclone" Taylor:

Default Sweet card

Great looking card, Blair... Can you show the back?
I've coveted the Cyclone card for a long time too...maybe someday

Blair,
I shouldn't have asked...now I want one even more
I think it was 9 years ago now, but I had my hands on one raw C55 Taylor when I was in Vancouver BC, at the "Big One", a small card show that has mostly hockey. That one looked worn but decent enough, just the price was a complete sticker shock. Seems Fred Taylor is an icon in BC, so the demand is high there. I was tempted to try a lower offer, but even 50% off would have me on Ramen noodles for weeks after leaving.
Every now and then I will look for another online...None have had that "je ne sais quoi" combination of eye appeal and fair pricing.
Congrats on a beauty!

Hi Brian,

I had the same experience at a couple shows - sticker shock is a good term!

The Cyclone card is definitely one of the top few in C-55/-56. (Of course in C-55 nothing touches the Vezina rookie!)

I'd say in about 10 years of looking (semi-seriously) this was the first offering that made me want to jump on it at the price.

I wish you luck in finding one too!

Cheers,
Blair

Thanks Andy! I like the C56 too...and it has the added prestige of being the rookie card. But seeing as how there were only three different cards of Cyclone during his playing days, I'm real happy with the C55!

Cheers,
Blair
