The interesting thing, Mike, is that that is not a forgery. It is a rubber stamp used by the Yankees to respond to mail requests for Mantle's signature on sent-in items. I received one in 1961.

Wow David, I can usually spot stamped autos but this one really went over my head. Ugly no matter what it is. Well, it's off to get new glasses for me,

David, can you post a pic of yours? The seller insists he got it in person, and is getting tired of us emailing him it's a stamp.

That's it, Shelly. I'd post mine, Ken, but it's buried somewhere in the basement--in a very safe place, I'm sure.

BTW, back in '61 I also requested a Maris autograph on my piece, and got a nice stamped Maris back in the same envelope.

Hmm, and now some seller just happens to have TWO autographs: a stamped Maris and a stamped Mantle!
