Default Signed Set Collectors

Any signed set collectors here on the board? I'm currently working the sets in my signature. Over the next year the goal is go hard at 58/83/2011 Topps baseball and 79-80 Topps Hockey as I've found the best way for me to collect is in one year intervals. (Because I like to collect a wide range of focuses I do best when I set goals for a one year period in a specific interest. If I don't I get burned out or spread too thin.)

I'll buying plenty of large lots this upcoming year so if you are working on any sets post them here I'll keep you in mind. Also, if you are starting or working any set near 58 or 83 and would like to team up on TTM requests let me know as I'll start sending ~25-30 out per week soon.

I'm working on a 53 Topps set, been at it for a little over a year now. Good luck with your project; the 58 especially is a nice looking set.

I'm working on a signed 1961 Fleer Basketball Set. Have about 80% of the set.

I know of a colleague on here that is working on a 1991 Fleer Baseball Signed Set and is down to needed maybe 2 or 3 cards (Bonds and Bo Jackson) I think?

Peace, Mike

I am not going to say that I am working on these sets, because there are always those near impossible cards that I won't/can't afford, but I pick up as many different as I can find from:

1956 Topps
1961 Topps
1967 Topps
1978 Topps

78 is probably my closest set, having been my first exposure to cards in general too. Munson would keep me from 100%, even if I could find the rest. I can't even close out my favorite team set that year though thanks to a stingy signing Ed Goodson!

1956 would be my favorite set, but too many high dollar cards keeping me well from completion.

I was this close to convincing myself to start the 56 set in earnest because there were both Jackie Robinson and Clemente signed examples on eBay (still are I believe) but I'm married and would like to stay married for now. 78 is funny because even though I'm not "working" it, it's probably the farthest along I am with a set from the lots I've picked up over the past few months. No toughies, but if you shoot me a need list sometime I check and see if I have anything you need.

I've been working on 1990 Leaf and 1992 Fleer Ultra baseball sets, and 1992-93 Upper Deck Hockey set since they came out. I'm down to 90 in the Leaf, 150 in the Ultra, and 43 in the Upper Deck. I'm considering ending the quest for several reasons, the foremost being I can't afford the cost of the guys I need that don't sign TTM and in the case of the Leaf, it will never be complete as Kelly Gruber won't sign his card from that year (he's wonderful in person and a very willing signer with a great autograph, but he just won't sign that card).

The Upper Deck hockey set has a few dozen European players I'd have a lot of trouble trying to track down and I need a couple of Rangers who are under contract with Steiner and I'm not going to pay those prices.

Despite all this it is a very challenging and fun quest, and I hold in very high esteeem those who have managed to complete even one small signed set, let alone a massive project like a Topps set.

Anybody who can help me with any of these sets please PM me and I'll forward my want list.

I've been fighting it out with signed 52 topps for a while now.
I've quit, restarted. I've sold, and restarted. Like any relationship, it's love/hate !

Working on a 57 set. The 10 years after high school that I stopped working on it really set me back. Most of the players I need to sign are no longer alive.

I appreciate it, but I actually have no clue. I bought a partial set some time back with 400+ different, but I have them sorted by player. Sometimes I see one and get it thinking I need it and have it, sometimes I will be adding cards to boxes and realize i didn't have one I always thought I had. I may be the least organized of the "semi-origanized" people out there.

I like the 1958 Topps set for autographs because the solid backgrounds allow the signatures to stand out without a lot of clutter. Same with the 1961/62 Fleer basketball.

I am down to 8 remaining on the '58's. You can see some of them and others from set collectors at http://www.net54baseball.com/showthr...tographed+sets

am currently down to 38 until I complete the 1954 Topps baseball set. I have worked on sets from 1953 Bowman Color and Topps sets from 1953,58,60,65 + 68 but have sold them all off.

I'm working on a signed 1949 Bowman set for about 6 years. I have about 50/240. It's been on hold for a while. I know there are a few tough sigs I still need for the set.

Default signed sets

I have 59 or 60 1964 Topps Giants (missing Clemente) and completed all possible in 1960 Fleer Baseball Greats. Still working on 61 Fleer missing about 6 and also the 1961 baseball scoops missing about 10 but not sure if all are possible.
Also collecting all HOFers on cards pre 1961- missing lots but willing to buy
