Default t205 barf borders and blank backs

Posted By: Ben

Out of my modest collection of 22 t205 "gold" borders, only one of the cards, Chance, actually has shiny gold borders! And strangely enough, the Chance is one of the lower grade cards in the group. The rest of the border colours on my t205's vary in different shades of puke...some brown, some greenish, and most somewhere inbetween. I know this is very common, especially in lower grade examples. Question to the board: what percentage of your t205's actually have the nice gold borders?

Also, I recently picked up a t205 w/a blank back. I've seen t206 blank backs offered, but never before have I seen a t205. Any info about these would be much appreciated.

I owned a Snodgrass once. It has made the rounds on ebay but is in "good" condition whereas yours is a beauty, congrats! Those are the only 2 I have ever seen.

are exactly why I don't collect the set. Recently, I've been putting forth a moderate effort to get the T205s that aren't in the T202 set (minus "gold" borders and team logos).

I actually have the same blank back player that Ben does. One of the real T205 mavens I know (I forgot which one)opined that these blank backs were likely cut out of something and are not "proofs." For whatever reason calling them "proofs" probably increases their value significantly. I wonder what a reputable grading company would make of these cards .....
