Default Edward Vela Art Cards

I have picked up some of these lately both from the artist direct as well as secondarily. They are really nice in hand:

Vela had a nice Delehanty that I decided to buy since I don't have any cards of Big Ed. I already have some art cards by Helmar and Ars Longa that I like very much so I thought I would give this a try. Also ordered a 52 Style Joe Jackson from a lesser-known art card guy in South Alabama.

Bill- I have also purchased from Helmar and Ars Longa - being a big fan of the latter...but he seems to have stopped producing.

Since seeing this thread, I purchased a Walter Johnson and a few others by Vela. They are /50 as opposed to those posted previously (/25) and are supposed to be signed before shipping.

Vela seems to be a cross between Leroy Neiman and Peter Max.

I did a brief look to see if you could find his original art, but it seems he is mostly prints of the cards. The cards have run through a variety of print runs. Many of the early cards I bought had 9 copies, then 25 now 50. The problem is, it seems with certain subjects (like Garvey), even selling 25 seemed to go awfully slow. I wonder if he can sell out a 50 copy run.

Yeah, Ars Longa was my favorite also and Jesse hasn't had anything for sale in quite some time now He did a Phenomenal Smith for me that is outstanding. I agree with the Peter Max comparison! My card should be arriving in today's mail and I will post it when it gets here

I've gotten hooked on these...

Here are two Vela cards ( one featuring the Mother and Grandfather of our own Hank Thomas)

followed by two by Pat Crowe:
