Default 1978 TCMA Jesse Barfield minor league

Is this a rare card? First time seeing this one, nonetheless signed. http://m.ebay.com/itm/Jesse-Barfield...-/151806817789

I actually liked Moseby and Bell better than Barfield, especially Moseby. The 5-tool guys were my favorites and for a couple of years, Moseby was one of the best in the game in that area. Others I really liked from that era were Eric Davis, Ruben Sierra, Barry Bonds (Pittsburgh), Ellis Burks, & Devon White.

Yeah, the "Shaker" was pretty good too, the Blue Jays all-time leader in stolen bases!

Cool card. Got to see his son Jeremy play briefly for the AA team here in town this season. Played right field, had a gun for an arm, similar build and batting stance at the plate.

I think the Rockies signed him from either a Mexican or Independent League, he played a few games with New Britain, saw him pop a home run in a game I was at, and he promptly got called up to AAA to fill out their team.

Unfortunately he's already on the older side and looks like a gatekeeper type minor leaguer. AAA ball may be pushing it for him, let alone MLB.

Interesting story though. Oakland tried turning him into a pitcher in their system a couple years ago. He did OK, but they didn't give him very much time to make the transition before he got let go.

Him and his dad are also still very tight with Rickey Henderson.
