Default Can anyone identify which player this is...

Posted By: Brett Domue

A collector emailed me this picture of a Morton's Pennant Winner Bread pin and is looking for an identification of the player.

I know some of you can answer this one in your sleep...any takers?

Thanks,

Brett

I'm guessing it is either:

Jimmy Archer
Heinie Beckendorf
Donie Bush
Wild Bill Donovan
Davy Jones
Matty McIntyre
George Moriarty
George Mullin
Claude Rossman
Herman Schaefer
Charles Schmidt
Ed Summers
Ed Willet

since it is NOT: Ty Cobb, Hughie Jennings or Sam Crawford.

We just need to find some images of these other guys and compare them to find the answer...

Also, just found a link to a lot of 5 from the current Hunt Auction including a Mullin:

http://www.huntauctions.com/online/imageviewer.cfm?auction_num=16&lot_num=663&lot_qual=&url_referer=view_lots_items_list.cfm

Assuming the top left in the auction is the Mullin, then we've got a winner.

At the very least, it's narrowed down to Rossman, Mullin, Bush, Schmidt, and McIntyre.

Thanks for the help!

Brett

If you look at the picture I linked ...

and then look at the 5 guys in Brett's link and KNOW that ONE of them is MULLIN ...

then the button in this thread is the ONLY one that could POSSIBLY be Mullin. The rest are way to skinny, etc.

There's a picture in the thread. I can print it, affix it to a pinback, and say I got it from my grandfather...

Does that work?

Only if you start with:

"I found this in my grandfather's attic and I don't know much about baseball, so I am selling it to the highest bidder - even though I can't vouch for it's authenticty."

This is the EBay equivalent of the Penthouse forum statement:

"I attend a small school, so I never thought this would happen to me..."
