Default Danny Breeden

Read an interesting article about him by Bob Lemke in the current issue of SCD. He appeared on Topps rookie cards in 1960 ( 526) and 1970 ( 36). The article also appears on Bob's blog

I knew of him being the Cubs catcher for Ken Holtzman in his second no hitter in Cincinnati against the Reds in 1971 and being teammates with his brother Hal on the Cubs during the same year, but I never knew that story. Too bad there never was a Topps card card of him as a Cub, his brother had one as a 1972 high number. The Cubs had quite an array of fill in catchers from 1970 to 1972 when Randy Hundley was constantly injured, Danny Breeden, Jack Hiatt, J. C. Martin, Chris Cannizzaro, Frank Fernandez, and my favorite, Elrod Hendricks.
