Wondering if there is any interest in a network54 fantasy baseball league? I had thought about forming a league if there are enough people interested. Thanks.

Hey matthew.
If I didn't already have one league, I would definitely participate!
I actually like watching baseball...not just baseball cards.

Some of my friends have set up an espn baseball challenge league. If anyone wants to join, email me for the password and league name. Or, if there are enough responses expressing interest, I will post the info here.

I'm there too if it's a freebie league. Too poor to pony for a pay league

It would be a FREE league (I'd rather spend $ on cards!) It is just a casual league -- just for fun & no money to be won. I'll go ahead & apply for the league. I had to have at least 6 players. Greg, Chris, Lee, Jay & Drew are in. 10 to 12 players work better so I'll give it another day or 2. I would like to get everything ready by next week though. Is anyone else ready for some real baseball? It has been a long winter.
Glad to have some interest! Thanks.

How about everyone chipping in a little and get a vintage card for the winner, say a $100 card, it's only $10 if we get 10 players.

Lee,
I was thinking of that myself...either that or each person donates a pre WW2 card into the pot (just a VG condition common or so, nothing extravagant) and the winner takes all.

I'll leave that up to everyone else as far as a prize. Someone posted earlier about keeping the cost down however.

Greg, I need your email. I sent an invitation to everyone else that has posted here.

April 3rd is the first day that stats can count. It will take a day or so to draft (all autopicks so everyone does not have to get together at the same time) so I will try to wait until Friday to set up the draft. I think 12 teams is the most that 1 league will accept but there are already enough here to start it.

what day and time is the draft supposed to happen?

I like the idea of a traveling trophy like the NCAA tourney pool has.

Here's the league info. I don't have an exact link but ehre is the info:

Yahoo! Sports
League ID#: 286288
League Name: network54
Password: vintage

It'll be first come first serve. The league is set for 12 people and there are already 8 teams, so that means there are only 4 more slots open. And just scare away you mere mortals, this my 21st season of playing roto baseball.

Hey guys. The link is

http://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/b1

Click on the sign up button & follow the instructions. 9 have already signed up & the limit is 12.

The draft will be an autopick draft. You pre-rank your players & everything is taken care of from there. Seems to be easiest way to do it especially to try & get it done by this weekend. Also there would be no problem for those with dial-up that way.

Did we decided if the league would be free, or if some prize would be involved? If there is a prize, I saw a nice T206 Wagner on Ebay that this guy found in his grandmother's attic, and it's only $25.00. Wow!

you better check and make sure you like the default order of players, if not, you better move players around. If you go into theleague settings, it will tell you what catagories are being used for the league and if you go to My Team, you can edit the player rankings there. Hope this helps.

Woohoo, I will dominate you all with mighty pitching staff lead by Jeremy Bonderman. I thought my relief corps sucked until I looked at some other teams. I don't feel so bad anymore. Looks like Lee is hoarding all the closers. I have a good offense, but my pitching is suspect, to say the least. Good luck to ya all, and may you all finish second or worse behind me

I drafted heavy pitching and they sucked, not that my offense was any better. Congrats on the win, I'll be back next with vengence.

I had a healthy lead for most of year. For whatever reason, my team collapsed and I lost almost 30 points in the last 3-4 weeks. Todd Helton sucked for so much of the year and finally got back to form jsut as Derrick Lee and Adam Dunn decided to suck wind.

This has been so much fun ----with David Ortiz and Derek Jeter in my lineup I am still shocked to be in 8th place ---guess I will just fire the manager and wait till next spring ---good luck to everyone --and for me it's "wait till next year!!"
