When I saw these auctions I thought one of you guys might just be trying to add some humor to ebay:

This is a perfect example to show how hard it is to identify photographs without any known provenance. If you stare at a photo long enough you can convince yourself that Lou Costello is Cy Young.

Rob,

Is that a tintype of Lou Costello? Are you sure that one of those pictures isn't Lou and Bud doing their "who's on first" routine?

That is some funny stuff. I really like the picture of Kelly and Anson in 1880 during Kelly's rookie season. I think he was too poor to afford shoes (or was that Anson with the bare feet?)

Explaining his talent to find photos of famous baseball
players, he writes "I sometimes find things that people
don't recognize they have." I think the talent he describes
is known as psychosis.

When my toast popped out of the toaster this morning, I noticed that it looked exactly like a Cap Anson Old Judge, spotted tie version. Should I put it on the BST thread right away, or should I send it to AA Grading services?

Rick,

Too bad the toast didn't look like the Virgin Mary... you'd have gotten thousands for it.

This provided me with plenty of amusement. I was getting prepared to sell some old photos, and now I'm thinking that many of them contain Cap Anson - in fact, there are several where he is disguised as a woman.

What's up with the WalkScott name. Did you stop running? By the way, nice to see your posting.

Scott must have added Simon & Garfunkel's 59th Street Bridge Song to his ipod.

I changed to Walkscott for this forum several months ago, indicting a change of posting pace...gee, do I have to telegraph everything?

I'm getting back into card-collecting once I get settled in Seattle. Everything I own will soon fit into the rental car that I am using for the move, which means most of my 'stuff' is slowly hitting ebay. (This isn't an ad - almost nothing I own is baseball card-related at the moment)
