Default Are These Autographs Legitimate? (Jodi Birkholm's Quick Opinion is in Post #14)

Please take a look at the card in the scan below. Any opinions as to the authenticity of these autographs?

IMO, the Grove auto looks good, but then again, I can probably make a decent replica in about 15 minutes... So someone else could have done the same thing....

Also, IMO, if one of these autos is legit, then (more than likely) they are all legit...

Any recommendations on which company to send this card to if I choose to get it authenticated? I am not a member of PSA, nor do I want to be forced to send 5 cards in just to get this 1 authenticated...

The Cochrane auto doesn't look right to me. It doesn't seem to match up to the ones I have seen before.

The Cochrane doesn't look right to me either. I've seen maybe 30 to 40 authenticated Cochranes, including a couple of documents, and his signature never looked that neat.

Default Lefty

I will only comment on the Lefty Grove autograph, but it looks right on to me based on my exemplars.

I'd let Jimmy Spence review - of all the places to get an opinion Jimmy will give you an honset answer. I know this site is chock full of experts - if your unsure - give it to a 3rd party and pay the fee - While some would disagree it's become popular to bash JSA and PSA/DNA - can anyone say they never make a mistake - or willing to put themselves on the line and prepare an LOA and stand by it and become successful. Just my thought

Ahh... But they don't stand by it. It's just their opinion. Check their lists of disclaimers.

Brad, please keep us posted. I was following this auction, and just wasn't comfortable enough to make a strong bid. I went back and forth over those autos for a couple days. Good luck!

I didn't see the auction. Did the seller comment on why he didn't have it authenticated. And David is right, it is their informed opinion I believe and you have to decide what that is worth.

Jeff, the seller wasn't sure what the item was to begin with, so I don't think authenticating was even a thought. The reason I wasn't comfortable with the item is that I'm far from being an expert on autographs - however it might have been worth a gamble.

Default The Card has Arrived....

First of all, thanks for all the opinions and comments, guys.... I appreciate it!

I have the card in-hand now... Here are some enlarged scans of the autographs....

I will be submitting the Foxx for authentication via the internet shortly... The results of that evaluation will determine the next step...

My gut feeling is that the Grove autograph (and likely all of them) are legit... Time will tell whether or not some authenticators agree with me...

I hope you got some good ones there. I think they are good.

My gut instinct was that the Grove looks legit, the "Foxx" looks right while the "Jimmie" looks a little off to me, and the Cochrane just doesn't look right at all. The coloring over of the first loop on the M makes me question the Cochrane even further.

I really hope the authenticators think they look good, as that is one sweet card.

Default Jodi Birkholm....

I just got the following response from Jodi Birkholm. He did a quick evaluation of the card using the high-res scans shown above.....

Jodi's opinion is.... "This item is likely genuine. Nice pickup if it's yours."

One thing about the Cochrane, on the smaller scan, the beginning of the M looked like it started towards the top of the M, which is unusual (at least I haven't seem them like that), but with the larger scan it looks like it actually starts normally from the bottom but is covered up by some kind of residue...it also doesn't quite look as neat as from a distance so you may be good.
