1962 Topps Stamps stuck to 1962 Topps cards....how can I remove?

Any ideas? I think soaking them would work. Peeling them dry isn't working. Is there any easier way than soaking them? I have probably 10 of these.

Frank rather than soaking the whole card try using a sponge and wtting the stamp. Let it sit for 10-20 seconds and then try a corner, may take more moisture but it might save the card.

I have removed several types of stickers using a slow wetting process.

I would soak them in a bowl of warm bottled water till the stamps easily come off the cards. Then use a q-tip to remove any glue residue on the card.

I would never try wetting just the area with the stamp only because I would be afraid it would leave a stain on the card in that area. This is just my opinion as I have never tried it. I have soaked nasty stained/musty smelling cards and I know you need to soak the whole card or it will leave a stain were the card meets the water.

Ben you may be correct, I have read on this site that post 52 cards seperate in water so my thinking was just try the spot?

I did the spot work on an entire 53/54 Parkhurst hockey set years ago and they turned out great.

I think you want to use distilled waterfor soaking or blotting.

Wouldn't soaking them damage the cards and the stamps? I've never tried it, but I've seen modern cards when they got wet and they don't look the same as before.

It would probably damage the card.

But not the stamp. soaking has been the traditional way of getting stamps off of things since 1840. (If I remembered the date the first stamps were issued I could probably get the date within a week or so. )

serious humidity might work too, like placing the card inside a compartmented container and a soaked sponge on the other side. Let it sit in the sun a while and see if the stamp comes off easily.
