Default Kind of Amazing

I just sold off a large bulk of my collection through LOTG (thanks Al) with the thinking that I would keep the pieces I really enjoyed, get rid of those that I had been collecting to collect (or those that I thought I just had too much risk tied up in third-party authentication) and refocus on what I really care about . . . the Mets. Today, a Mets item I'd been waiting for for a long time came up on Ebay and I had the cash to make it happen. Kind of amazingly perfect timing.

Scorecard from the first ever Mets game in St. Louis. Have a running Ebay search for that date specifically. For the last few years all I ever get out of the search is old national geographic collections and other magazines. But this morning when I got the notice I could tell straight away (based on price) that there was something new. Now if I could find a ticket, it would be great (to match my first ever home game ticket and 3 first game at Shea stubs).

Awesome. Mets fan here also.
I'd sought for 10 years or so for both a ticket and game program to the first game I attended. I happened to luck upon a scorecard real easily, but was able to find a ticket last year.

Don't have it in hand, but here is the cover and inside. Love that is has actually been scored.

Great story.

For the sake of the board's mental wellness I won't show it again right now but when I acquired the E90-1 Young in my collection I wouldn't have, in a million years, been able to get it had Heritage (where I bought it) already not had my collection to sell. Sometimes things are just meant to be?

Congrats! I'm always surprised scorecards being scored is looked upon as a negative. I love that extra little bit of history. I always keep score at baseball games. Cool story.
