Default Burdick stamped E79 Abe Attell

Got this off a British seller for less than $10 delivered over a decade ago. Thought it was interesting with the Black Sox scandal connection. If you have any questions feel free to post them in this thread. Thanks!

SOLD

Hey Arthur, thought I’d show an E80 Philadelphia Caramels 44 Scrappers with a very similar Jefferson Burdick stamp that’s been in my collection for quite some time. Pretty cool! GLWS

Default update and FYI

Both great cards..... the Burdick stamps are so cool to find in the "wild". The second card is an E80 44 Scrappers.... not an E79..... although theres an interesting history here. The E79 set called "27 Scrappers" only has 21 total cards.... but some have more than one boxer for a total of 27 scrappers. Then we move on to the E80 set called "44 Scrappers" which only has 11 cards with 17 different boxers. So where does the "44" come from? Probably from adding the 27 from the E79 set with the 17 from the E80 set which can be looked at as a continuation from the same sponsor the Philadelphia Caramel Company. Crazy but apparently true.
