Default Anyone ever try to checklist the Dana Postcards?

I think it would be great to be able to have a running checklist of the 1910 Dana postcard boxing series fight with Johnson-Jeffries? Does anyone have a good start to get this project started?

I've tried but it is overwhelming. I mean, there are all sorts of pre-fight cards, like this series:

And who knows how many 1 of's:

The fight day PCs don't seem to follow any discernable numbering conventions:

I've got about 80-90 different postcard front images in my files of examples I've sold throughout the years.

I'd have to go into a real deep dive to find the postcard backs and try to match them up.

I'd guess that would only be a small percentage of available ones to.

Not to mention, there's probably tons of cropping and lettering variations from every time they did a print run off the negatives for new customers. Probably several different back types.

Also tons of bootlegs from competitors at the time, who made copies of the original postcards for their own postcards.

There are some really high #'d cards in the set.

There is an old postcard guy that comes around here to antique shows every year or so that has some of them. Some I've never seem online.

He always wants $150+ or more each for them.

Yes. He usually has the one where the boxers are lined up in a row.

Not paying his prices though.

Muldoon is shown in the group of three I posted above, lower right card. Here is a better view:

Burns was on some of the training cards:

He's also on this Rob Roy PC:
