Default 1948 Topps Magic Photo Variations

Can anyone help categorize the 2 variations that I have for the 1948 Topps Magic Photos? I would like to send them into PSA and do not know what I should put on the form. Were they printed in different years or in different locations? Adam i received your book at Christmas (great by the way, and one of the best gifts I received), but there was no mention about these variations in the 48 Topps Magic Photo section. The first 2 images are of the standard front and the change in card number location on the back. The second 2 images show a change in the distance at which Tunney is framed and the horizontal positioning of his name on front. The back of the card shares the change in location of the card number. Any advice or help would be great.

Okay good to know glad I could give you some new information for that section. So based on your experience with PSA what should I name the variations?

Default variation

I believe they have recognized the different versions of a few of the boxers with Jack Johnson, etc. I am hoping to get my Frank Gotch variation back recognized. I am currently looking at trying to get all the wrestlers with their different variation back but progress is a bit slow. I appreciate your insight on this.

Nice. I hope they recognize my variations too. I see now from psa dempsey versions of the card that I can put # on the side and # on the bottom, but what about the front text change that is different from the other two I have. This would be a 3rd version. Have you seen others with front text changes and not just card number location changes?

The rarer/alternative backs come from the 5-cent packs of 6-cards panels.

Thanks for the information on where the # located on the side came from...I will put that down in my notes. Sthoemke have you seen different front text locations from the same boxer, wrestler, etc ?

I have not noticed the difference on the cropping on the photos of the wrestlers but it is worth another look.

The Tunney is a completely new card, not a cropping variation. They had to redo the artwork for it.

Thanks Adam you noticed what I was talking about. Since you have better experience with PSA what do you suggest I label it as?

For the other two versions they are set on PSA as Card number side and Card Number on the bottom. For the new card I like your Full Length or Full Body Length...your choice

The tragedy is that I purchased this card in 2013...and didn't join the forum until 2016. Hopefully others find similar examples.

I'd call the full length one "shoes showing".
