Default Some Antique/Paper Show pickups

Posted By: Keith

Hey guys,
At a local paper show I picked up the following items, some of which I have some questions about.

First, I picked up this 1911 basketball photo of a team called the Ramblers from Buffalo. 2 of the players have an old english style B on their chest, the rest have Ramblers stitched onto their jerseys. In front of them is a trophy basketball painted World Champions 1911. I know we had this discussion before about teams calling themselves worlds champions, and my guess these were just a local league Champion. With that said, their uniforms look well made, and this doesn't appear to be a rag tag team. A little google research shows a German Buffalo Ramblers beat an All-Syracuse team in 1911 to be World Champs, but I have not got further than that. I may contact a local Buffalo library or historical society to get further.

The photo is pretty big, 14 x 11, and it was hard for me to get a good image of it. I actually saw this same photo at the same show 5 months ago, but last time the seller wouldn't come down on price, but he did this time, so I picked it up.

Next I picked up a group of pins from 3 different sellers.
First, I picked up 2 Detroit Tigers pins, a Ted Williams pin, and a 1971 Eagles pin. Can anyone help me date the Tigers pins? The smaller 1 looks like it has some good age to it. Does the Muchinsky pinback book help with dating such pins? If it does, I'll think I'll try to pick it up.
Next I picked up a small Baltimor Colts metal booster pin, and lastly I picked up this small turn of the century Cloth covered Lehigh pin (a good pickup i thought for a buck).

The last three things I picked up were an off condition LA Angels pennant, a 1967 Phila Eagles Christmas card with team photo, and an older football themed book for $1.

The Tigers pins are likely from the 40s or 50s. They are very tough to date and Muchinsky's book doesn't identify the year of manufactur.
