Default R311 1936 premiums (Glossy or Leather) and R303 1939 premiums (A, B or C)

Posted By: neil b. downey

Hi Guys, I am interested in R311 1936 premiums (Glossy or Leather) and R303 1939 premiums (A, B or C). Does anyone collect these in either PSA or SGC slabs? How hard are they to come by and what problems arise when you try to grade them? Any info would be helpful. Thanks, Neil

Hi Neil:

I collect them both, actually.

In SGC holders.

They are tough to find in EX or better. The R303s are flimsy, non-glossy paper. The R311 glossies are easily scuffed on the front, and both issues frequently have pinholes in the corners for obvious reasons.

Both issues look amazing in SGC holders, IMO. I had an R311 Cochrane that SGC graded for me, and it looked so awesome that I decided to collect the set.

I agree about them looking great in SGC holders. I would prefer them in SGC holders myself. Do you have any extras for sale? Let me know, Neil

I just checked out the SGC slabbed R303s and R311s on eBay and they do look great. Does anybody know if SGC slabs Butterfingers as well?
