Ebay question

I just got an e-mail claiming to be from e-bay and saying that I had not paid for an item. It gave an item # and I looked it up and it was for nothing I would ever have any interest in even looking at. I checked in My Ebay and there was no mention of it there. I am assuming this is a scam. Have any of you had things like this happen to you?

Yeah, that and the Paypal phishing scam, which I get at least a couple of times a week. Just looking to get your info for nefarious purposes. Report it to ebay.

I get four a day, some to e-mail accounts I have no affiliation with. The most recent phishing scam I have gotten is from Paypal saying I paid for a Dell computer for $650+ and there is a big message at the bottom that says CANCEL TRANSACTION. I know better, but if you are unsure about whether it is a spoof or not, forward the e-mail to spoof@ebay.com or spoof@paypal.com, or contact the eBay Live staff.

I don't even think eBay sends out emails anymore. I can't recall the last time I got a legit one from them. They seem to do all their communicating via the My eBay message system.
