So how are uncut sheets valued? Obviously condition is key...

Is a clean uncut card worth top book value, less, more?

Ted, is that your sheet? It last sold in a Lipset auction about 10 years ago and someone (hopefully you) got an absolute steal on it. Still kicking myself.

Back in the Fall of 1981, good ole long time collector/dealer and close friend, Bill Bossert, invited me to his BB card shop in Swarthmore,
Pennsylvania. Bill and I were avid uncut sheet collectors, and he wanted me to check-out several vintage uncut sheets he had acquired.

At that time, this 34G Hi # sheet was loaned to Bill by Rob Lifson for Bill's article in the Spring 1982 issue of the Baseball Cards Magazine.

This 25-card sheet was reasonably priced in 1981. I was tempted to acquire it. However, my daughter Debbie had just started College.
And her tuition costs were a higher priority to me at that time than me owning a 47-year old piece of cardboard.

So, I came very close to acquiring it. Anyhow, it's one of my few regrets in this hobby that I didn't.

Best regards, good friend.

Ted (and Pete) thanks for the replies.

It sold for about $21k in Lipset about 2003-4 IIRC. Figured it would be several times that and woke up the day after the auction kicking myself. Someone got a major steal.

So, who can give me an answer on the value of an uncut sheet? Obviously depends on condition, who is on the sheet....

For example, would an uncut sheet from 1962 with mantle and no ther stars be worth the combined value of the cards, be worth more or less?

Best bet is to check realized prices from some of the auction houses
There were some notable aberrations on '70's sheets recently, don't let those skew your reality

Default 1952 Bowman FB

This 1st series sheet comprises of the LARGE card version of this 1952 issue. I acquired it at a shopping mall in Media, PA
in 1982. I have searched for another such sheet for 33 years; and, have not found one. I'd say it's unique in the hobby.

Ted, that 52 Bowman large football sheet is the best one so far. I'm a little biased to that set though.

I don't have a picture of this available but I have a 1949 Bowman uncut sheet of 36 (#'s 1-36) with the 3rd sheet back overprinted on the back. Our pal, Ted Z., has seen this sheet when visiting my home.

This is awesome eye candy guys! Please please keep posting!

BTW- is that E93 sheet the real deal???? I'm aware there are no known T206 sheets, but are there a handful of other period sets represented?? E's- 90-1 through 98, T212, American Caramel? Regardless, I love seeing these (the Goudeys and Bowmans are great too)... and would love to have one some day, but doubt I will for space (and cost) considerations.

Hey Clint

I am certainly in agreement with you. Of all the Sportscards' sheets in my collection, this sheet is my favorite. The artwork
is amazing. Pictured on it is one of my favorite guys, Sammy Baugh. And for the NY Giants fans, Frank Gifford's rookie card.

This actual sheet is more impressive than my scan shows here. I have it framed, so this is a scan of a photo of it (so,
it's a little fuzzy).

Default Hi Clint

I have seen 1950, 1951 and 1952 (Small issue) FB uncut sheets.

Also, back in the 1980's, I had all 3 uncut 36-card sheets of the 1948 Bowman FB set.

Mr Riggins was a heckuva character. Bet he could still crack some skulls.

Would love to see a 55 sheet someday. Can't get much more colorful than that.
