Default Grading assistance

I have never graded anything before.
Recently I picked up a card from 1887 and felt that it would be best to grade it. Looking at most of the cards from the Old Judge set, it appears that SGC is the more popular grading option for that, although PSA will do the trick as well.
As well, I have a couple of other cards, Rose Rookie, Seaver Rookie etc. which I'd like to grade PSA. Mostly just to gauge their authenticity.
I also have a handful of cards which are worthy of grading
I really am not seeking to have these graded A for Authentic but would like an actual number grade.

Having never graded before, I'm seeking to find the best way to send in perhaps 10-20 cards to get graded. I thought there was some type of service where you could sign up for a set price and receive X amount of grades for free.

Can someone enlighten me on how to do this?

If grading is going to be a 1 time thing for you. Getting in on a group submission would be your best bet. Bobby started a thread about it. You could contact him with any of your questions. I have sent in cards through him before and everything went perfect.

Here is a link to the thread. http://net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=237965

Agreed; try a group sub first. Although I'm not sure a Rose RC would qualify for a bulk submission with values $99 and less.
If you have over 50 cards to grade, that's when I would recommend you join PSA's Platinum Collectors Club and wait for a good monthly special:

You could also join the collectors club for PSA and you get six vouchers for any card valued up to $499. Your Rose and Seaver and Old Judge might all qualify at that rate.

Unless the Rose was an absolute beater or maybe had an issue (color touch, etc), a Pete Rose rookie would NOT qualify as a $100 or less card.
