Default Best NON-TOPPS BASE set of the 1960's

There seems to be a lot of interest in ranking the Topps product over the years. Since I completed all the Topps sets of the 1960's I've moved on to other sets from that decade, so here's a new poll.

What's the best NON-TOPPS BASE SET of the 1960's

I tried to list one for each year but that's not really accurate, and since several of the sets are near identical in design over many years I just picked one year to place them but you can rate them on the entire run if desired

1960 Leaf
1961 Fleer Baseball Greats
1961 Post
1962 Post
1962 Fleer Baseball Great
1963 Post
1964 Topps Giant
1964 Topps Stand Ups
1965 (et.al) Bazooka
1966 (et. al) Kahn's Weiners
1969 Milton Bradley
1969 Transogram
Others

I tried to just stay with well distributed sets (no test sets, no insert sets, or super regional sets)

i don't know how to do an actual physical poll so guidance will be accepted.

Default 1960 Bazooka

I would have voted for the 59 set, but that one is 1950's. The Bazookas were very colorful (when on full boxes). Contained good photos of most of the players and were a great marketing hook to get kids to buy gum. They are incredibly challenging to collect in full box form and aside from my Clemente collection are my favorite sub collection!

Photography wise it's the '64 Giants. Design wise I have to go with the '64 Stand Ups.

The 1964 Topps Giants are gorgeous, but I really like the 1963 Fleer and 1962 Post sets-- 1969 Topps Super too if considered eligible.

I particularly enjoy both the Post Cereal and Bazooka sets--all years. The 1962 JELL-O is technically a regional, but I admire that one a lot, too. --Brian Powell

My vote. Inexpensive, so anybody can have a set. Plentiful and easy to find.

60 cards - 20 Hall of Famers plus a few others - Oliva, Pinson etc...

I always thought the '64 Topps Giants were the perfect cards for autographs. They were large cards, had semi-portrait type photos, and a great unobtrusive space for the autograph.

Default From Packs

Pulled from original packs in front of me at Columbus Flea Market Bordentown NJ. No marks on Robinson just the plexi holder from that time
