Default Good candidate for soaking? Carolina Brights.

I would love to own an intact Carolina Brights someday, and I found an affordable opportunity with this T206 Downey here. However, the back stinks. Could soaking do the trick?

The eBay listing identifies it as paper from an album...it looks pretty waxy to me, though!

Just based on visual inspection, I would try if it were mine. That said, its hard to tell what that is glued to as has been mentioned. My guess is that's going to need at least 15-30 minutes in very warm water probably closer to 30 or more.

That looks like a good candidate for soaking. It all depends on the type of glue used, and you can't tell that until you actually put it in the water. Needless to say, be careful if you do, and follow the tips I gave in this post:

Most likely a real front and fake back. This is the same seller that had the fake Hindus awhile back.

I still don't think those Hindus were fake. Same with the Type 1 Coupons.

There was some weird stuff on that account. I sold 2 or 3 beat up commons to that seller and those same players appeared later in his auctions, but the cards were different. I should have taken screenshots of everything that was odd, but I didn't and now a lot of it is gone. I sold an m101-4 of Strunk in a SGC 40 holder, and later the account sold a raw copy (literally a copy, with the same flaws) at auction and it went for $0.99. I really can't tell what is/was going on, but I'm 99% sure that first group of Hindus was bogus. The Hindu Merkle is the completed sales looks good to me though. The Molesworth Coupon looked good as well, so who knows.
