Can anyone tell me about 1932 Sanella margarine cards? They seem to be attractive, yet underpriced. Are they just not popular? Any help is appreciated.

Damian

European made baseball cards don't have the demand of American made. Europe produced a few Pre-War baseball cards, and some of them are sharp looking.

One reason for the lack of demand is that these baseball cards were not part of a baseball set, but were loners in world sport sets. When there's a baseball set to gathered, with team and favorite players subsets and group lots, it will produce higher demand and notice amongst baseball collectors.

The T206 Wanger and 1934 Napoleon Lajoie and 1952 Topps Mickey mantle would not be even close to their value if they weren't part of highly popular sets with commons that anyone can afford.

Here's a more popular European 'baseball card.' A German movie postcard featuring Ruth and Harold Lloyd.

Just recently, a guy contacted me because he bought one of these postcards at a market in Estonia. He was wondering if it was genuine or fake. I said in part that it seemed unlikely that Estonians would be counterfeiting Babe Ruth baseball cards to sell to Estonians.
