What a bunch of crap!!! I've been trying to bid on about 12 items in their auction this is ending right now and each time I bid it kicks me out to their home page.

I called their office and got voice mail.

I've tried in Explorer, Mozilla and Netscape.

Incredibly frustrating. There are items that are going to close at $75 that I was going to bid over $1,000 on. More than one item like that.

Anyone else have this problem?

-Ryan

are you sure that the items you see at $75 are still there? Most items I saw have been bid up much closer to their actual values over the last 48 hours.

Marc,

Yes, I'm positive. They've all closed now. Here are a few examples of closing prices of items that I had already bid on once in order to be able to bid during the 5 minute extended period and was not able to due to the failure of their system:

Final bid: $160 - My bid that never was: $2,000
Final bid: $75 - My bid that never was: $600
Final bid: $160 - My bid that never was: $750

I could go on. There were 14 items I was bidding on, so on me alone Leland's lost a decent chunk of money. Plus, I don't get the items I want. It's a lose lose situation. Sweet.

Are you saying you were able to bid in the extended period, Marc?

-Ryan

I didn't even know about this auction. There's alot of lots that went cheaply that I have seen so far. I'd be pissed if I had consigned to them.

My thoughts exactly. I didn't know it was going on either and there are many lots that interest me, and they are all fairly low.

Lelands has monthly or about small auctions. These are not to be confused with their big catalog auctions, and usually have more inexpensive lots. They started them recently, and the bidding interest seems to have increased regularly.

RYAN - Same thing happened to me w/ their auctions that ended on Easter. It was smaller lots called their "Fredo" auction. Late Thursday night I wanted to bid, and I clicked the part to retrieve my password, it said it would be Emailed, waited an hour nothing, tried it again still nothing. Called them on Friday (Good Friday)no one answered, got the voice mail, I told them there was a glitch in their system and I needed my online password to bid. Left my name & #. No one called back that Friday. And on Easter Sunday the 2 lots I was interested in went much lower then I was prepared to bid. I never even rec'd a call back from them since.
W/ all the auction houses out there as competition, you figure they would be on top of their game. Hey, theres always Mastro, Robert Edwards, Heritage, Grey Flannel, Lipset, 19thCentury etc...

Same thing happened to me. It was certainly a frustrating issue, but there was nothing I HAD to have. If these are the prices that were eventually realized, some bargains were had.

I am also curious to what Ryan bid on? $2,000 proposed high bid on something that only sold for $160? Ryan?

I'd hate to be the consignor expecting a grand or two.
