Default 1957 Topps set for sale

Posted By: Lee Behrens

Hello,

I am thinking about selling my 57 Topps set, it is missing the Mantle card, i know it is the key card in the set but I have never like his cards so I figured the buyer can fill the Mantle in with condition he wants, maybe you already have the card. I was trying to construct an EX/NMT set. My upgrade list has 50 cards on it with stars. About half of the upgrades are just soft corners. I do have scans available for the major stars, the Koufax is a PSA 6, the only graded card in the set. The Mid range numbers are really nice. There is 13 cards with creases, 12 commons & Early Wynn (nice corners, though).

If you would like further information please contact me I am looking to get $2500 for the set, minus mantle.

Thanks

Lee

to hear someone else say they don't like Mantle cards.

Actually, it's Mantle himself with me.

Cause I do like one--the '52 Bowman.

....my dad used to buy me a Mickey Mantle card every year for 5 years as part of my christmas present. the reason he did this? Mantle was his favorite player when he was a kid....so now i have a real nice little Mantle collection that i cant sell ever (note: not that i would sell them anytime soon, and i actually bought 2 on my own after he stopped)

I dislike Mantle, but for personal reasons. I never watched some as a player, so I am not swayed by that perspective. I did have the chance to meet on several occassions and he was a pompous, arrogant ass and an ugly drunk. Wish I could remember what show it was I did where he was at the restuarant I was at after the show and he was bombed out of his gourd. It wasn't a pretty site.
