They both played in either the longest game ever or the longest game in minor league history.

Ted do you know who the winning pitcher was? Hint -- he came up with the Sox and was traded to the Mets just in time for the infamous 86 season.

Bobby Ojeda?

Ted -- I just found your email in my spam folder; I'll get back to you Monday.

Indeed. He had a great 86 season for the Mets too, but then faded.

Ojeda had some brilliant moments in his career...not just with the Mets but briefly with the Dodgers too as I recall (I might be the only Mets and Dodgers fan on Net 54). Sadly, he's probably best remembered for being involved in the boating accident that killed Tim Crews and Steve Olin -- as well as his hedgetrimmer accident.

darn, I have a neat old Pawtucket promo poster of the scorecard of that game ................. but I can't find it right now .......................... the one thing that always struck me as amazing (other than the game itself) was that BOTH teams scored a run in the 21st !!!!

I attended the ending of that game as a member of the Press for the Providence Journal w/ my BILaw, who was reporting at the time.

After the game he took my Press Pass to the locker room & got the owner Ben Mondor, winning pitcher Bobby Ojeda, and Dave Koza, who got the winning RBI to sign for me.

I have since gotten Cal Ripken to sign (thanks to a friend) and plan to try & get Wade Boggs as the only 2 HOFers who played in that game. Marty Barrett scored the winning run.

I would guess this might be the only one of these around.

---for bringing up your always interesting trivia questions!

Altho I can't contribute to your surveys/observations on T206 and other older cards because my collection basically starts in the '40's forward, I read every word of yours & just about everyone else's posts made on this Board.

Every once in a while I get a chance to chime in!
