Posted By: Brian

hey guys.. i have a few questions about this card. i just got it for $152.50. what do you think the grade would be on this card? i was thinking no higher than a PSA 2 becaus eof the paper loss ont eh back..
If it was to be gradeda 2, what would the approx. value be?
Also, how scarce is this card?

on the other board to which you posted this question, I think it may be difficult for this card to get a 2, given the myriad places of small paper loss on the back.

If I had to guess at value, I would say $200 -- although a lot depends on how people value the eye appeal of the front [which is nice] compared with the significant number of areas of small paper loss on the back.

Default Questions About This T3 Ad Back

It is probably a 1 or a 1.5 if it grades. I'm always worried about repaired pin holes on those cards. Even if it gets stuck in a "A" holder with the eye appeal I'm guessing you made a nice buy at $150.

Default Questions About This T3 Ad Back

Posted By: Frank Wakefield

An oddity about the availability of T3s is that 98 years ago someone would save coupons, then mail them in and ask for the player they wanted. So I'd think there are more stars out there than the other guys. That would be part of why card #114 is scarce. Still, the stars will command a deserved premium today. Cobb and Mathewson are beautiful cards.

Kling would have been requested by Cubs fans, and there were lots of Cubs fans back then. And there are lots of Cubs fans now, which would keep a bit of demand on the card. Few folks try for all of the T3s. Some settle for a type card, or players of one team.

The ad back that you have is seen less often than the numbered checklist back.

Nice card.
