Default Oh, why not start a discussion about a possible new error in the '33 Goudeys.

Not really a new error, but maybe a long undiscovered one. Here is a reprint card with an authenticated autograph/initials of Luke Sewell:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/LUKE-SEWELL...p2047675.l2557

Now, if it is not Luke Sewell, then the leading candidates are either Moe Berg or Cliff Bolton.

Here is a current auction showing a card of Bolton:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1936-Goudey...4AAOSwqk5af7Ku

Still, if we are talking about the 1933 Goudeys, it is possible a player from 1932 may have been pictured. Howard Maple:

Feel free to chime in.

His other card in the set sure looks more like him than that one does. I would agree that Maple looks more like the catcher in this card than Sewell, but who am I to say. I'm no ear expert, for sure.

Rhett,

OK. Do you have a photo showing O'Neill in this pose? I know the pose is similar to his E220 card.

Luke himself identified Steve O’Neill on the card.
