Default Any Casino Collectors In The Community?

First, I don't know if this is the right forum for this, so it may need to be moved.

My experience has been that lots of net54 members collect all sorts of things. I recently came upon and purchased a collection of older casino chips. I was wondering if anyone here had an opinion on their value. I got them at yard sale prices, so I can't imagine I've lost any money.

The first 12 are from Atlantic City and the remainder from Vegas. A majority of the casinos that they're from are now closed, some even imploded. The ones that are still standing certainly don't use these issues of the chips any longer.

I've also not had much of a chance to research them yet.

Thanks!

I love casino chips! I once owned a $25k baccarat chip from the Sands. Cost about $250, but was very cool!

I just did a quick search on eBay using casino chip and got over 30,000 hits. I then did a completed search and got almost 80,000 results. I didn't really look at pricing.

I've collected a few... and I've lost many more than I've collected.

Try this chat board. I have sold chips there in the past. At a glance, your chips look to be 1980's and later. I would guess $250-500 for the lot on eBay. But, there might be a few that are not commonly found.

Default Chips

I had a collection which were my Uncle's chips, when he passed a few years ago. I got them. Obosolete chips fom closed casino's are where the big money is Esp Old Vegas and Illegal Clubs. I sold about 90% of them on e-bay, did quite well, I still have a few that I liked for one reason or another. Colors, casino name, etc... Condition of course is key, edge chips, inlay condition, will chip stand on edge, rarity. There are quite a few sites if you do a google search. If I get a chance I will dig out some of the ones I still have and post a scan.... Best of Luck...Ralph

Thanks for pointing me out to this forum. I'm getting some feedback, we'll see where it goes. I did get an offer for the lot for and another inquiry if I wanted to sell already through e-mail. I'll probably end up selling to raise funds to keep building my T206 & 33 Goudey HOFer sets...you know how it goes.

Hello,

Heritage has sold many casino chips ... most came from the same collection. Check out a selection of the chips we sold by clicking on the following link:
