Default is this t206 chase anything special?

I know im probably looking at tis card too closely but I pulled this Chase card out today and saw it had some pretty peculiar features. Namely the yellow around his belt and legs. Are there any other white cap chases like this?t206chasefront.jpg

Default Scan?

Could you post a scan so we can see what you are referring to?

Tony

Default misregistration

looks to me to be a problem of misregistration. the card gets passed through the printer separately for each color, and there's supposed to be good registration so that the colors don't print misaligned. In this case, the offset looks significant. looking elsewhere on the card, the green color bleeds off the black border on the right of the card. so I think that halo to the right of the player is from the green color being offset to the right and therefore missing from the players immediate right.

correction -- after looking at the scan again, it's the blue color that's offset to the right. so where the design called for the green grass to appear immediately to the right of the player, the offset blue caused only the yellow print ("yellow and blue make green") to appear in that location. pretty neat as the card reveals some insight into the printing process back in those days.

As stated in a previous post it's simply the registration being off. On T206's when you see a large patch of yellow there is usually an equal amount of blue showing opposite. On your card the yellow is next to the players body and the blue is outside the border.

Not as noticeable as your card but the registration on this one is off slightly with yellow showing on the top of each arm and blue on the bottom.
