Default Good looking M101 Reprints

A seller on ebay has a couple of M101's up for sale

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1915-M101-Gr...8AAOSwbdpWY7Vt

To my eyes they look very good, unlike the T206 cards that he also pictures. However this has most of the red flags:

1. Estate find

2. Sold with other obvious reprints

3. "being sold as a reprint, could be a GREAT find"

However, based on the picture of the M101s he has (Wood, Alexander, Sisler), does anything scream out reprint? I find it a little odd that they have the same corner crease and they all seem to have a cigarette burn hole in the back. But, the space between the border looks ok. Anything else?

Thanks

Bob

Hi Bob,
You may recall I warned about these a couple of months ago:
http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=212260

The cards you referenced have the tell-tale black ink spot, but others have already been made that lack it. As feared, these are now being "aged", although you correctly saw how they seem to share the same crease areas. In hand you should have no problem, for reasons found in my prior post. Also,I would bet that these cards do not feel "broken in", but are instead more rigid, even if showing creases. Finally and of course, the Wood and Sisler are easily debunked because they are m101-5 cards that cannot have the ad backs this counterfeiter used.
