Default What type of niche sets do you collect??

Posted By: Charlie O'Neal

I thought this might be a fun topic.

After some planning this is the set that I am starting on. My goal is to have it completed in 8 years

T206 (Total 265 cards)
58 HOF's
complete Southern League set
complete Horizontal set
the rest are cards that I think look cool

I want one of everything. That is one of each set, not one of each card in each set.

Charlie...great topic...

Basically "subsets" or set within a set right? I'm working on a few which range from somewhat easy to insanely difficult. The three that come to mind are t205 minor leaguers (12 cards), m116 blue backgrounds (24 cards approx.) and an e107 Type 2 set (7 cards).

I also keep an eye out for Kansas City players and nab those when I can too.

Some type catagories can not be completed without serious money and tremendous luck, due to unique cards in the set.

Can N, t, e, R, F, H, d, etc. type sets be completed with neither of the above?

Scrapps. (I really only wanted the O"Neill and Caruthers, because they were so beautiful--but they were the last two I got!)

I would LOVE every 19th century HOFer on a 19th century card. But Burkett is not to be--I had to sell my Ramly (which was already making an exception of 9 years!) Don't I need a chap named Chadwick? Have the Wrights, Spaulding, Selee, and the Usual Suspects...oyvey...Davis!

Dummy Hoys--4 Old Judges, and an Oshkosh cabinet from 1887, the year before he broke into the majors...
Can't I post just ONE picture?

and the Black Sox..,all sets, photos, tickets, etc. Supporting cast: manager, New Commissioner, straight players, owner...points west...

(Ray Schalk--had to catch all those pitchers..can't throw a game without the pitcher...although a certain first baseman did pretty well in that respect.)

big niche for me, one card of each major league player that appeared on a card featuring a major league team from 1908-45.

238 down, including 33 HOFers. 1760 to go.

Jay

My place is full of valuable, worthless junk.

Cards in PSA 11 or better. So far I have found none, so until then I’m trying to get all of Eddie Mathews cards, and finish my T206 set.
