Default 1892/93 Binghamton Bingos

Posted By: runscott

I was quite surprised to see these two guys on this cabinet photo - I was able to date it to 92/93 because of the presence of Wee Willie Keeler - he began his first pro season,1892, with the Bingos. Keeler finished '92 with NY then began '93 with Brooklyn, finishing '93 with Binghamton.

Default 1892/93 Binghamton Bingos

I didn't recognize Keeler until I opened the package today. Found Montgomery Ward while doing a search on Binghamton - but I can't verify that this is him. Ward played for Brooklyn for the two years after the Players League folded ('91,'92), before being sold to NY as a player/manager. Ward also played for the Binghamton Crickets until 1878 when they folded and Binghamton was later sort of a triple-A team for Brooklyn in the early '90s (Keeler was sent back there from Brooklyn in late '93). So maybe Ward passed through Binghamton during this time of career flux. I just ordered a 515-page biography of Ward, hoping to find more.
