Is it just me or is this the same one from the Mastro auction that just ended? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=280184465621&Category=55917&_trksid=p3907.m29

I'm not sure, but I thought Mastro wasn't even sending out invoices until Monday so even if this guy won it, how is he already selling it? Another strange thing is that I could have sworn that this card ended yesterday with buy it now, but all of a sudden it's back...

It could be a scam...

But with the sellers feedback, Im thinking it could be a buyer who is jumping the gun and trying to sell for a profit before he actually pays for the Mastro card.

Maybe he didnt have the $9777 + juice to pay Mastros and is trying to get payment to forward to Mastro???

Risky, but the private auction feature makes me think this.

Maybe he is the one that won it and he's trying to turn it for a profit before he even gets it, but besides the private auction it seems sketchy to me that he covered up the serial number. I would think that anyone who saw the Mastro auction could tell that it's the exact same card with or without the serial number.

31414381 is the cert of the ebay card. The seller "juanfan" emailed it to me. Is it the same?

That's the same number all right. In fact here's a link to the same card on the Mastro auction: http://www.mastronet.com/index.cfm?action=DisplayContent&ContentName=Lot%20Information&LotIndex=77087&LastLotListing=Lot%20Search%20List&CurrentRow=21 it makes me wonder how he's selling the same card already when the auction invoices are supposed to be sent out today.

Something must have been up. Ebay pulled the auction last night.

Stay away from anything by "Juanfan"---He has been written about many times on the EBay Board & also CU.

Has pulled scams w/ Jordans, Mantles & 1996 Mirror Golds.

Even Amy Lee's piano! (Evanescense)

I just can't believe that ebay lets people get away with that stuff, let alone recognize them as "powersellers". They apparently pulled the auction last time because the link I originally posted said "Item has been removed by ebay" when I clicked on it the other day, but he just goes and relists it again anyway. I've seen that stuff happen several times. I would think that ebay would start banning these people instead of just pulling their auctions and letting them put the same thing right back on there. I got ripped off (along with about a dozen other people) for $1500 about 8-9 years ago by someone pulling the same thing with Jordan rookies and ebay didn't do a thing about it other than suspend the sellers account.

I tried to get one of the ebay customer service people to explain what the point of private auctions was other than to encourage shilling and I didn't get much of an answer. Although they didn't have any response to me asking them if allowing people to have private feedback defeated the purpose of having a feedback system either. Oh wait, they gave me a link to some "make a suggestion to ebay" page. I'm sure there will be sweeping changes in the immediate future based on my concerns....HA!

Doug - the private system allows ebay to be more lig big auction houses where you have no idea who you are bidding against. I think that instead the auction houses should accept the ebay system of bidder transparency.
