Default Brooks Robinson auto run

I’ve posted some of these before but was asked for some individual scans. So here we go (also re-inspired by the Kaline thread)

Really none of them were tough. Due to trying to do the project on a budget it took the most time to acquire the 57/67 cards. All Autos were done Ttm and I could send a bunch at a time with a very quick turnaround. So maybe it took 7 months? Still working on the Orioles team cards and some of his other issues from his playing days as well.

Thanks everyone for the look and nice comments.

Default Brooks Robinson signed run

Stephen,

Looks GREAT! Thanks so much for posting some/most of the individual cards since it gives a much better look at the card and autograph. Is your goal to get them all in the SGC slabs? Makes for a very nice display.

As you know I’m doing a regular issue Brooks signed run myself, but all in pen. Figure I’ll respond to your question so not to detract from the Kaline thread. Your question, “Why don’t you just send the cards to Brooks and include the pen you want.” If I was doing a signed run in sharpie I’d do just that. You can see Brooks’ auto with a sharpie, even at 81, is still pretty nice. It’s just not the same when he signs a card in pen; every recent example in pen that I’ve seen has been just not that nice. I’d rather take my time and search for vintage pen autographs, but it’s been a lot tougher than I thought. Hopefully I’ll find them all one day.

Stephen,

Since the cards were TTM, have you let Brooks know that the run is complete?

Were there any reactions from him about the signed run you were working on?

Very cool!

What's the next project?
