Default Teammates Reunited After 100 Years

I bought the first RRPC last September from a seller in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Written on the back is Geneseo IL. This month I was thrilled to find another RPPC shot just before or after the first, sold by a seller in Bloomington, Illinois. The catcher is the same in both as is the onlooker sitting in the car.

I think these are different people. The batter on top is wearing a different shirt, has a dirt smudge on his shoulder, and his pants look different. Also, the catchers are wearing different caps. Definitely the same locale, day, game, etc, but my money is on different guys.

Either way, super cool to find a companion like that!

Definitely different batters. I hadn't looked too closely at the catchers because they are dressed similarly but you are right, it appears to be two catchers - good spot!

The photographer had the batter and the catcher swap pants between the two pictures. He also requested that the batter tuck in his shirt for the second photo.

Hey Bryan! How you been bro? This is really cool that you found these two PCs and brought them back together.

Nice pair!

Now the trick would be to find that exact location and do a photo reenactment of the scene.

Thanks for the nice comments - I thought y'all would think this is as cool as I do.

I plan to see if I can find some info on the background.
It is 3rd in line for my current research projects - I will be sure to post in this thread again if I find anything (or if I am lucky enough to find a 3rd RPPC).

Very cool, Bryan!

Other differences include a second bat and what appears to be a black jacket on the ground in the background in the top postcard.

(I'm beginning to feel like I'm playing "Spot the Differences" in Highlights magazine...)

Default ball

Very cool!

You can also see the ball in the second picture...at least I think that's what it is.

The catcher in the first photo looks like he could be black, definitely darker
skinned than the one in the second photo.

The photographer appears to have moved to his left in the second postcard. On the right you can see a second telephone pole. Less of the house and mostly missing telephone pole on the left. The rear wheel of the car has a space between the outer rim and the fence post between 9 and 12. Based on the shadows they do look like they were taken about the same time of day. It could be the end of one game and the beginning of another. Nice RPPC's and very serendipitous.
