Since I got iced out of the Philly show this weekend, I decided to browse some of the auctions on-line and picked up a couple of nice 1909 and 1910 framed and matted newspapers/ads. Not cards but they'll look nice on the study's walls. The ad contains Donovan, Kling, Chance, Wagner and Jennings, I can make out John McGraw in the NY Herald story along with a panoramic view of the Polo Grounds.

Well, this was a good month for T206 HOFers. Approaching 70% of the Monster graded by SGC, PSA and GAI (with a few BVGs), all in lower grades (1-4).

rmacpa, would you mind sharing your name and a little about your collection? Congrats on some very fine pieces. I was glad to see them and others in Louisville before they all parted ways.

Best Regards,
Joe Gonsowski

My tongue was hanging out when I saw that card, Josh. I lost out on a Cobb E102 and I've been in pain ever since. I couldn't let this one go...

Since selling off my baseball card collection, I have been focusing on boxing cards. I've been lucky enough to acquire these cards in the past few months. Note: the scans are not necessarily to scale.

Congratulations Jay! Looks like you were right about the Ewing.

The auction ended just a few days ago. How did it get from Great Britain to SGC back to you so fast?

Very nice seller. He only charged $1 for shipping and overnighted it. I went to the Reading, PA show this afternoon. If truth be known, I went to the show hoping to see a Verkman-Drent mud wrestling match, but I figured since I was already going I'de get the Ewing slabbed.

Jay, I (and probably a few others here) are worried about you, going to a card show to see two card dealers mud-wrestling!!!!! Me, I'd rather see Carmen Electra and Salma Hayek mud-wrestling!!!

Anyway, congratulations on that Ewing...that is one beautiful card!

And Roger, please stop, you're making the rest of our collections look like garbage and I'm ruining my keyboard with all the drool!!!!!

Just kidding, please keep it up, those cards and photos are awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

Steve

Scott M.,
Great calender -- Johnny Evers smiling (laughing), now I've seen everything !!
I guess a good vintage Cubs question is who is the half faced player, lower right, and who is missing all together ?????

Scott G- I don't see Johnny Kling anywhere, my guess is that he is the "missing" player who is in the torn off corner. I have no clue who the "half-face" guy is.

Won this today. Its a beater, to say the least, but it was cheap and it is the tougher No # on back variation. Do any of you CJ collectors know how tough this card is, or is it basically viewed as just a misprint - or in this case a missed-print - with little or no added value?

Obak PCL, some kind of tattoo transfer and a couple baseball pictures. Not the most expensive pieces. A little different stance on the team photo. Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
