Default How do you get your website collection on Google...

Posted By: Mark T

I am trying to insert the website of my cards in google. I have gone to their website and followed the directions and it said i was all set. This was months ago.

I see Leon's site, Scott Brockelmans site and a bunch of other guys who are members here when i do searches but mine does not come up. Anyone have any ideas?

I did one for free at yahoo/geocities but now I am sophisticated and pay about $11 a month for 100x more webspace than I use. When it was free I didn't have enough space (i think about 15mb was free)...Brian McQueen, my partner in crime, set both of mine up for me...as well as he handles 98% of the techy stuff on this board....the other 2% I mess up and then ask him to fix.....such as today with Jason Leinberger's ancient request for me to add him to the links section.....that I just got around to messing up today....and have asked Brian to fix. But as to your question. I don't know.

Mark,

The easiest way to get Google to include your site in their DB is to get a site already listed in Google to link to your site. When Google's robot/spider crawls the site you are linked on then it will find your site and add it to its DB.  It doesn't take long at all to happen.  Google's robot/spider crawls most sites daily so if you get linked on the correct site, viola.. Google will find you!

The real work begins after Google finds you!

I have learned a lot with this. I went to google a few months ago and added my site to the data base. I thought that was all you had to do but alas nothing.

I have an E107 on my site and it is also in the index. If i google E107 i still don't see my site coming up. I will try and edit the HTML to include any key words that may be needed for them to pick up on. Thanks for all the help...

Mark,

Google your actual http: address to confirm that its in the Google DB.

Google E107 Baseball cards and try to get a link on as many of these sites that show up. I am sure you can get a link on a few of them..

Mark,

Start a link exchange campaign.  Most collector (non profit) type of sites do this to increase their chances of showing up in a search a engine index.  Email me your site info (link, title and site description) I will add this info to one of my sites and Google will find you in a week or 2.
