Default 1933 Goudey - Numbering of Uncut Sheets

I put a little work in to number the cards on each of the ten printing sheets used for the 1933 Goudey set. In case it helps others trying to learn more about the set, I'm sharing my work below. The attachments are ordered in sequence with file names that include the sheet number. Thanks.

As background the set used 10 sheets with 24 cards each (though a double-printed Ruth card meant only 23 different cards on the sixth sheet). The cards were not produced/released in sequential order, instead skipping around to create gaps and holes collectors would buy more packs in hopes of filling. Most famously, card 106 was skipped entirely.

Interestingly some of the sheets had cards numbered in order while others placed the cards/numbers essentially randomly. You'll see this below. (Apologies in advance for the mix of sizes.)

Neat, thanks for posting. Is there any known reason why 4 sheets didn't use the Big League Chewing Gum banner at bottom of each card?

When I see Ruth cards with that portion cut off (and there's a decent amount out there), I always think some kid probably liked the look of the cards that didn't have that banner and considered it some junky ad on their Ruth and cut it off to clean up the look.

I don’t believe the reason for the design shift is known for the final three sheets, but yes, a rather common trim is to see cards from the first 7 sheets with the banner cut off!
