Default 2014 World Cup

Saw the draws today - wow... not sure if the USA could have been in a worst group! Germany, Portugal and Ghana.

Ghana is beatable if the U.S. plays well. They aren't as good as they were in 2010. Portugal and Germany are just too good though.

Prediction: 1 point from the group stage, and look ahead to 2018.

I have to agree. Looks like the group of death for us. Bummer. It would be great if we could make some noise is this WC.

Best,

Andy

Granted a point out of the Germany game would be a small miracle, we should beat Ghana ('06 and '10 were back in '06 and '10) and we can steal a point from Portugal.

I'll be optimistic and say they take 4 points, which could be enough.

Germany > Brazil in the final.

Brazil losing a second World Cup final in the Maracana would send that country into mourning for a generation.

I like Brazil to win on home soil.

I am looking forward to a good battle for all involved. I'd say Go USA but we all pretty much know they will be watching the finals on tv. Must be how it feels to be a Royals fan. Oh well, Go Brazil!

The draw for the US is tough, but you need to beat the best to be the best. Let's hope for some miracles. I know one thing though, I wouldn't want to be a foreign fan when/if Brazil gets eliminated.

Just remember the old days when you had to love the World Cup for being the World Cup - there wasn't even any consideration of the U.S. being there.

This summer we'll get to see a few U.S. games, but best to pick a back-up team to root for.

My backup team is the Dutch. I don't particularly like their draw either. Could be a brutal summer.
