Default Thinking about selling - options?

Posted By: rob

I would think this to be a high ticket item...this Cobb is a T213 type 3 "overprint". What are the best ways to go about selling an item like this?

From what I can gather, major auction houses charge 15% - ebay about 5% or so - and there is no real market on cards of this nature as far as I can tell to simply ask for a dollar amount. I say there is no market as I have yet to see another Cobb overprint from this set. But perhaps those that have been in the hobby more than I, which would simply be about 6 months, would have a better idea.

I am sure there are many pluses and minuses...thanks in advance for any ideas or other thoughts?

ps...the picture posted here was pre-grading, it has subsequently been graded SGC 30...would probably grade one or two grades higher but for a little pencil initials on the top back corner. If you want to see the scan of both front and back I can send you one, email me at rgutheil@bayougroup.com

Hey Rob,
I think ebay is as good a way to go as any. The fees are relatively low, and you reach an incredibly large audience. If you are not an ebay seller and need help, drop me an email. That's how I would go if it were mine.

if you think it is a significant piece. Ebay does well on middle of the road stuff but real rarities frequently undersell there.

selling to board members. Although I have had auctions on ebay--the well-known cards sold well there, the lesser-known cards not as well.
