Default OT : My dad at the LLWS

I'm not sure which is the best section to brag about my dad :

link no longer works, and I don't remember exactly what it was about, hahaha.

Wow Doug. That is awesome!! It brought back some fond memories of my own little league days, many years ago. You are a very lucky man to have a dad like that. Here's well wishes for his next 30 yrs doing it!!

Good one, Al.

My dad is not as obsessed with them as I am.

Very cool Doug! My parents live in Healdsburg, so I've been rooting for the Petaluma kids also. My youngest son was on his leagues 11-12 All Star team this year, but they didn't get anywhere near Williamsport. Hopefully Petaluma can bounce back after yesterday's game.

Doug.

That's very cool of your dad to volunteer for so many years. What a gentleman. I used to live in Petaluma with my family and my wife's family is still out there. So I'm especially rooting for them. I hope your father is good luck.

Best.

Initially this thread was me bragging about my dad, with a link that no longer works.

A few years ago I didn't brag about my dad when he received this award from Little League baseball :

https://www.littleleague.org/world-s...ard-recipient/

Now, sadly I am posting to mourn my dad who died this past Saturday, surrounded by his family.

We are having a memorial at my high school, where he announced football games for 50 (!) and basketball for 40+ (!) seasons, as a fundraiser for the local boosters club.

You are all invited!

Hugs to everybody, and tell the elders in your family how much you love them.

Doug

To the OP, you might want to disable the link in the first post of this thread, it now sends you to a very different article than the one you obviously originally intended.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Doug. Sounds like you were blessed with a dad who provided you many wonderful memories to cherish. There's no way to truly measure the impact his life had on you, and on others. If the coming days are anything like when my own amazing father passed away, you will hear some heartfelt stories and encouraging words from people that will make you extremely proud to have been his son. Praying for you and your family as you celebrate his amazing life, and also grieve his physical absence.

Blessings!
Kevin
