Default This is great

I happen to catch the headline of this article on my ESPN app and made a mental note to check it out later. Of course, I forgot, as I’m mentally incapable of remembering anything if I don’t write it down. Also, I was visiting my father tonight, (unfortunately in the hospital) and he being a baseball fan, told him about the headline I saw concerning this card. My point is, thank you for posting this so I could remember to read the article and send a link to my father. Hopefully he will get as a good of chuckle as I did.

That made me laugh, probably the best story about the making of a baseball card I've ever read.

People are stupid. The "Menendez Brothers" basketball card is down to like $4 (which is still stupid) what did that peak at?

The completed auctions on this card are unbelievable. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...lete=1&_sop=16

1989 Pro Cards were massed produced and this was a .50 card for the last 30 years.

Remember when George W Bush was discovered on Jeter's card? People spent huge money when the entire print run at that point had Bush on it.

Same with the Menendez Bros card. Thousands and thousands of that card were available.

Funny, the very first thing I thought of when I saw Keith Comstock's name was that I remember pulling his 1988 Topps error card out of a pack (white letter variation) and being thrilled...because I think Becket had it listed at like $8.00 or something back in 1988.

And then he actually mentions that card in this article.

I still have it.

I gotta be honest, this whole thing is annoying.
That ball is definitely not hitting him in the nuts, or cup, or anything. It's basically hitting his thigh. His 'package' is untouched! If the story is true, why didn't he glue the ball directly to the crotch area of his pants????? Talk about being off-centered.

Spelling "Yastrzemski" correctly without needing to look it up since the 1980s.

I thought for sure the article was going to devolve into a story of how all that Super Glue he put onto his pants ended up soaking through and glueing his "package" to his body.

I get the sense he was new to the supergluing a baseball to your pants thing. A margin of error in placement is to be expected.

I agree he was definitely only off by a standard deviation...
