Who is going to the National that collects football? Let's try to get a group together and put faces with names.

I'll be there Friday and Saturday. (I had to first wait and find out the outcome my kid's baseball team in their Little League World Series regional tournament before booking any rooms.)

How about the football guys all meet up at noon on Friday in front of the MSB/BST booth (956P)? Maybe we can snag a bite to eat at the show and chat.

Spread the word.

Jeff,

It was really nice meeting you and your sons in Chantilly. I'm really bummed that I didn't go to the National this year. When I tried a FB meet-up a few years ago at the National, no one showed up.

So be glad 2 others showed up with you.

Have a safe trip back home, if not already.

Jeff, Zack thought he was going to pass out or die if he didn't go to McDonalds, so I took him there.

I was at the table at noon on Friday but didn't see anyone. I'm having a great show and I have a heck of a story to tell about how I finished my 1962 Post football set ending my 20 year quest! It involves this card:

Great pickup, Larry! That's a tough one. What's the story?

Sorry we missed you on Friday. Ty, Mike, and I were standing in front of the booth talking until about 12:05 when we decided nobody else was coming. We told the guys in the booth to send anyone else that showed up looking for us to the concession stand.

I thought the show was just OK from a vintage football collectors perspective. Yes, there were plenty of cards to look through but I didn't see the large variety of unique and interesting pieces of memorabilia / cards that you usually see at the National. Mike B (finalscore) and I were talking about this and were wondering whether all of the auction houses that have popped up have made it just so easy and convenient for people to consign items that the dealers aren't getting the rare, unique stuff as much any longer to bring to shows.

Certainly if you were looking to complete post-war football sets, there were plenty of tables to dig through binders, boxes, and display cases to do so but that's all stuff you can find on ebay every day. I saw a few odd ball cards from difficult sets but not as many as I've seen at the National in the past.
