Hi guys!
I'm relatively new to vintage cards, been collecting for about three or four years now (but I've been buying baseball packs back when the gum was the desirable object). Most of my cards have come from e-bay, and I was wondering if you had any input for places to go besides e-bay and other online auctions, i.e. good card stores in major cities for vintage stuff, or what and when the best shows are to find pre-war cards. You guys seem to know your stuff, so I figured you'd be the first to ask,

Thanks!

If we told you that, we'd have to kill you Checking yardsales and auctions can be worthwhile. I picked up a nice collection of Goudey's while checking out a garage sale. The family had a bunch od 80s cards for sale and this elderly lady in 80s asked what they knew about about older basbeall cards. I quickly jumped in and told her what I knew and went over to her pplace to see her husband's cards. Lots of 33 and 34 Goudeys with a few 35s. Sadly, no Ruth or Gehrig cards. I showed her a price, explained grading to her and I walked away with a few hundred Goudey's.

Finding cards like this rare now days, but you can still find lots of valuable memorabilia like programs, yearbooks, pennants, etc that people don't think of as being valuable.

Jay
