mantle set registry psa bungles again 1967 who am i

once again for the 3rd time in recent years psa has graded and labelled a 1967 who am i mantle as a reissue....missing the coating
only 22 cards of the 44 card set were reissued by topps without the coating and sold in fun packs
Mickey Mantle was not one of them
psa has sent me an email guaranteeing that the reissue is authentic
I saw the 1st one they graded and saw immediately that the disguise had been removed...i havent seen this one yet b ut im sure the same is true

Ruth is the only baseball reissue from Who Am I. Philistines.

Given the prices some pay for top graded cards it is unavoidable in the hobby today, but I am sad we as collectors bow to minions who know so much less about the cards we collect than we do...sigh

Larry, that's bizarre. For a while, there were only two of them, one of which I own. One of the set registry guys bought the other and we worked together to have it removed from the registry. Mine is scratched off but still has some of the silver coating... If you need help with PSA, I'm happy to send you pictures.

According to psa joe orlando got personally involved with this card and concluded with his expert staff that this card came without the disguise

Hmm... I know the owner of it. Hopefully he will post a picture of it in his PSA registry set soon. He is the one I was referring to above that owned the other misgraded one previously and who I worked with to have them removed from the set. I wonder if it was hand cut from a partially printed sheet?
