Default 2014 Football Card Collecting Goals

I am borrowing this idea from the pre-war thread as I am curious to everyone's football card collecting goals in the upcoming new year.

My goal is to put a serious dent into completing the 1967 Topps AFL set in "natural" condition. I am about 85 cards shy of completing the 132 card set that I started just a few months ago.

Also, I would not mind picking up a few rookie cards of my favorite AFL stars, such as John Hadl and Daryle Lamonica from the 1964 Topps set and Ernie Ladd from the 1962 Fleer set.

This steps outside the normal football card area but I hope to add to my goal of obtaining a media guide from what I consider the top 68 colleges in the country for every year 1960-79. I consider this my "golden age" of college football.

I have completed a few school runs but need many, many more! Also want to add to my AFL media guide collection, I am at 34 right now.

I am closing in on the 1956, 1958, 1960, 1963, 1967, 1968, and 1969 Topps sets. I will set my goal as completion of at least five of those. Ultimately I would like to have the whole 1956 to present complete in the next three years and then work on pre 1956 for the next many years.

Sam, you have a particular favorite of the sets you are working on now?

Complete '67, '68, '69 and '70 Topps sets. I need about 50 cards total.

That will complete all the sets from '67 to '78.

And I'm also fairly close on '60 and '61 Topps. Maybe get those complete as well.

I'd like to get my '53 Bowman set finished (need 6), get close to finished with my '56 set (currently at 60% completion), and get about half-way on my '51 Bowman set.

Erik, I guess I am partial to the 56's. Something about them is visually appealing to me. It is a pretty small set, and not terribly expensive, so I should be able to finish it soon.

Thanks! Been focusing primarily on pre-war sets/collectibles and post-war oddball/regional sets recently. Lots of great football stuff out there.

Default 1935 National Chicle

I am a newbie here, but am working on National Chicle set. Just started. It is overwhelming. Need to figure out a systematic approach to start picking things up one at a time. Ebay is crazy when 20 auctions pop at once and close at once. Looking forward to putting a dent in it!

Would like to keep plugging away on the two sets I collect:

1964 Philadelphia - 75/198
1970 Topps - 109/263

Both in high grade...

Jeff - I'd like to see both the 50 yellows and browns - not easy, but obtainable.

Default WTS: 1960s Football cards

I'm new to this site, and new to selling my cards. I have quite a few football cards from 1962-1965. If you want to let me know what you are looking for, I might be able to help you finish your sets.
