Default Jeff Morey's "Lost" Signed T206 Cards

As many of you know, autograph collector Jeff Morey amassed a startling collection of autographs on pre-war cards. He sold many of them in various Mastro auctions nearly a decade ago. Unbeknownst to me, he had made several pages of photo copies of his cards before sending them off to the auction block. I have had some success tracking some of his cards down in current collections, but for the below cards these photo copies represent the first time I am seeing an example of a player's autograph on that card.

If you know of the whereabouts of these, I would be thrilled to hear from you.

And I just had to share the E95 Crawford and T202 Baker....

You can hear all about Jeff Morey's collection in the interview on my website.

Have you been able to track down the auction photos for these cards?

You have to ask Jeff why he had Mrs. Bender sign her husband's card. That's rather odd. The only thing I can think of is that he wrote to Bender shortly after he died. It still doesn't explain why she would sign the card.

Default The Mrs.

He also had Mrs. Mathewson and Mrs. McGraw. The only reason I posted the Bender was I didn't see the "Mrs." The whole sheets can be seen on the Morey Interview page of my website. They include some other nice rarities, including Cobb.

If I posted them here it is because the Mastro Auction (at least the on-line version) did not post these photos. For example, these sheets also contained a Fred Clarke that Mastro did show and I have on my website -- but did not post here because I had already seen it and captured the color version.

Just found the Baker on the Legendary Auctions historical auctions website. Don't know how I missed this before, but it's probably because Mastro didn't use the phrase "T202" in the title or description and just said "triple folder".
